Reuters - If the trends of the past three decades continue, it's possible that every American adult could be overweight 40 years from now, a government-funded study projects.

When your overall food consumption level is low and you are burning more calories than you take in and exercise, saturated fat doesn't have to be a big concern. It's eating tendencies that are more detrimental than the actual food itself. If you are a more of a minimalist with your calories you can loosen up a little and have some saturated fat.

The American Heart Association lowered its recommended daily allowance of saturated fat from 10 percent of total calories to seven percent, however, even though scientific data still doesn't back up the theory that saturated fat is the main culprit.
